Tuesday Vera Happy

Hi Beauties,

I have now reached a place where I just hope to inspire and encourage literally.
There are tons of books on the market sharing how to go natural, stay natural, why natural, why-not natural. Now there's going to be a film made on the Novel 'Nappily Ever After'.
When I began this blog my intent was to help women who are transitioning from Chemicals to Naturals. Now I see it is to help women heal, their broken hearts from society's standards of what we've often called 'good' hair. We have to begin to embrace what GOD placed inside of US.
There's so much good there, right there, right here inside of US, that we bypass looking for outside sources. We just need the peace of God the surpasses all understanding to just really
dwell inside. I guess my word today is, sometimes we all need a little Aloe Vera juice- it may be bitter in taste at times but it is very good for the body- high in vitamins and repairs you stomach walls too. Desire the healing that it yields and you'll have a Vera good Tuesday too!

Remember, Whatever the length..........love your hair.

Happy New You Emerging

Hi My Beauties,

Well, I know you won't believe this, but I had to put a mild texturizer in my hair - yes chemical
and I've already begun the process of growing it out natural for 2009, it will be fun !
I will be completely natural again by october/november, so I will just enjoy the journey back to me. I know this is going to be a New Me Emerging-!
I had to texturize my hair due to overpressing it, I had placed to much heat on it already, so this was a way to stop the breakage for some reason. So, now I had to begin again..........which is okay! Everything does happen for a reason.

I fell of the boat for a moment no time to chat with you and share in the latest hair stories.
But, there is a new movie coming out, called "Good Hair" it's an indie that showed at the sundance film festival and scored hugh reviews.

It's cold how has your hair been?
I've told you my story- share yours with me

Remember whatever the length.............Love your Natural Hair!

Growing Your Hair Today Monday

Hi My Beauties,

Just wanted to get the word out about how to build up consistency with growing out your hair.
Here is some info you may or may not already know.
To grow Long and Strong hair, that is to say African American Hair in particular,
moisture content in our hair should be 15% percent. The average person is between 8 to 10% percent. Yet due to what African American styling techniques and procedures such as curling irons, blow dryers, flat irons etc. African Americans hair moisture levels fall much lower than
8% percent which leads to breakage, dryness, and thinning sides, which has resulted in our lack of growing hair beyond the nape of our neck. Natural hair products high in natural oils are essential to aiding the hair to retain moisture and produce growth. There are several product lines that are out that have high content quality products that create moisture in hair:
Ojon, Beauty4Ashes, Carol's Daughter, Miss Jessies, Nexxus.
There are also some foods that can be very beneficial to hair growth as well,
such as almonds, sea weed, flax seed, fruits and veggies.
Also, to prevent breakage 100% pure Shea butter if applied to the ends of your hair will prevent breakage.

Some more websites to check out:

Growyourownhair.com
beauty4ashes.com
AngeladeJoseph.com
MissJessies.com

I hope you all have a beautiful fun filled week, and I will reach out again soon, Love Ya

Monday Happiness

Hello My Beauties,

How in the World is your hair doing today? If it's just doing, that's okay. I hope that all is going wonderful.
Well, as we all know summer is closely approaching which means if you are trying to be a strategist with your styles for the summer, definitely do it with a lot of careful thought and love.

If twists and and braids are your thing, remember to have them refreshed every eight to nine weeks so that your hair does not begin to lock-up (unless you are starting locks of course).
Then there is always tree braids in case you want the fun of straight hair with no damage to your natural texture.

On a another note, I do have some more products to share with you that are really great.
Well, at Urbanbella.com you can find the Jane Carter solution's nutrient conditioner $15.00 or
Curly Q's Shampoo and Coconut Dream Conditioner $14.00, at Carolsdaughter.com you can find the best tressed set (check for specials)that is great, there are some HSN-W (hair skin and nail) Vitamins that are by Nature's Sunshine that are on sale for $12.00 now these vitamins are great.

So to my bevy of natural beauties keep curling, keep twisting, keep frowing, keep rolling, if you need....... to press it - don't be afraid to let your waves flow.
Just be in the know, with what to do....
with the NATURAL YOU!!!

As always, Whatever the length ...Let your Hair Shine!!
